Peace Silver Dollars
The Peace dollar is a United States coin that was produced from 1921 to 1928 and then from 1934 to 1935. There was also a small production in 1964 but they were never released and were destroyed. It is 90% silver and 10% copper and contains 0.77344 ounces of silver. The first year of release was minted with a high relief, but the coins were difficult to strike so in 1922 the relief was lowered. The silver Peace dollars were made in the Philadelphia, Denver, and , San Francisco mints.
The Peace dollar was designed by Anthony de Francisci. It features Lady Liberty and the words "In God We Trust" on the front. The letter "V" is used instead of "U" in trust so it appears as TRVST. The reverse has a bald eagle and the word "PEACE" at the bottom which is where the coin gets it's name. It was the last silver dollar produced for circulation.
